  • Sugar 5 milliliter
  • Instant yeast 11 milliliters  
  • lukewarm water 414 milliliters  
  • Olive oil 15 millilitre

Step By Step Instructions To Make Portuguese Bread 

Step1

Begin by placing the flour in a mixing bowl and combining all ingredients except warm water and olive oil. Thoroughly mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon until well combined.

Create a well in the center of the mixture and add the warm water and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon until the flour has absorbed the liquid and is fully incorporated.

Let the bowl rise for two hours, covered with a cloth and a woollen blanket.

Preheat the oven to 180C / 355F.

Once the dough has risen, remove it from the bowl and shape it into a bread form before placing it on a floured tray. Use a knife to make a cut along the top of the bread.
