Step By Step Instructions To Make Ina Garten Shortbread Cookies Recipe
Ensure the oven is heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add the butter and sugar to a mixing bowl fitted with the paddle attachment and blend until well combined. Put the vanilla in the mixture.
Combine the flour and salt in a medium bowl, then add them to the butter-and-sugar mixture. Once the dough starts to come together, mix on low speed for a few minutes.
Place on a flour-dusted surface and shape into a disk. Refrigerate for 30 minutes after wrapping in plastic.
Using a 3 by 1-inch finger-shaped cutter, roll out the dough 1/2 inch thick. Spread sugar on an ungreased baking sheet and place the cookies on it.
In order to brown the edges, bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Bring to room temperature after cooling.
When the cookies are cool, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
To melt the chocolate, place 3 ounces in a glass bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at high power. Using a wooden spoon, stir the mixture.
After the chocolate is just melted, stir it every 30 seconds until it is smooth and creamy.
Stir frequently until it becomes smooth after adding the remaining chocolate.
Once the chocolate has smoothed out and slightly cooled, stir vigorously; stirring will enhance the gloss.
Using just enough chocolate to cover half of each cookie, drizzle it with chocolate.
